Palas jewellery should be handled with love and care at all times. Here are a few tips to help to maintain the quality and lustre of your Palas pieces.
Tarnishing >
All sterling silver, brass, bronze and gold plate will naturally tarnish over time but this will happen much faster when it comes into contact with water, perfume, salty air, skin creams, chlorine, sea water, perspiration, chemicals, acidic skin etc. Hot and humid conditions can also cause metals to tarnish faster.
Natural pearls, gemstones, crystals, gold plate and metals >
None of these should be submerged in or exposed to water, chlorine, perfumes, chemicals, cosmetics and creams etc as they will damage the surface and natural shine and may also dissolve the glue that secures the crystals in some of our designs.
Leather bracelets and necklaces >
Leather and water are not great friends! We suggest removing your leather bracelets and lariats before showering and swimming. Water causes leather to rot and weaken and can therefore lead to breakages and discolouration.
